About inkyplume and Julie

Julie – Founder and Artist

Julie Futoran-Ulsted, is the founder, primary artist and product designer at inkyplume. She is originally from the Pacific Northwest, where she spent the first eighteen years of her life and developed her profound love and appreciation of the natural world. Influenced by her artistic family and experiences working at her parents’ women’s boutique, Julie honed her aesthetic vision from a young age. Her extensive travels across Europe, Southeast Asia, and life abroad in Japan, Mexico, and Albania have enriched her artistic repertoire and provided a unique artistic perspective. Always growing and refining her art process, her art is strongly influenced by diverse cultural aesthetics and flora and fauna, which she paints with vibrant color, texture, and pattern. Julie aims to bring joy and curiosity through her art. Your can explore her work further in this shop on a variety of products including canvases and art prints or on social media @inkyplume. Julie currently lives with her husband Adrian, 12-year old daughter Sonja, and their two puppies, A Cuppa Coffee and Biscotti in Rochester, New York.
