Created in 2020, this artwork was born from a transformative visit to the Phoenix Botanical Garden in Arizona. You can still see the original “JF.Ulsted” signature, marking the very beginning of the journey before the brand officially became inkyplume. This painting captures the awe of the desert in spring. From the intricate, stippled patterns of the barrel cactus to the bold, rhythmic lines of the agave, every stroke reflects the inspiration found in the desert’s resilient flora. It was here, among the blooming cacti and the desert quail, that the iconic “plume” motif was first sparked.
